I love sushi (well sushi rolls)! There seem to be many in Cairo but I couldn't find anything in Alexandria, except at the Four Seasons in Alexandria. I went to a sushi restaurant in Cairo but I don't remember the name of it. However, the food was good and the interior was very nice. I do remember that it was really expensive (14LE for one small glass of soda, although we could have gotten a big BOTTLE of soda at the market for 3LE and bring it at the restaurant and share it with everybody there...)... but I know that is typical of Japanese restaurants, even in the US. But it's more expensive there than it would be in the US. Here are some websites of the sushi restaurants in Cairo if you really want some and don't mind driving... http://www.sakurasushi-eg.com http://www.hanamisushi-eg.com http://www.sheboya.com These are lists of other restaurants but again, they're mostly in Cairo: http://www.sushiref.com/listings/me/egypt/ http://www.sushi.infogate.de/rest/af_egypt_gypten_cairo_kairo.htm
I don't really know any good Italian restaurants, but I know a good friend who is a great chef. I'm sure you will like her cooking much better than any Italian restaurant ... ask nunu and she'll tell you that she's the best! lol ;)
I went to Egypt last summer it was great I loved it there! The tea there is amazing all there food is great there! Have fun wait I know you will have fun! Don't Worry just Relax and get a hotel room that has a great view of the Nile River! Egypt is amazing! You will love it! I got some really great jeans there too!
it is best to come to Egypt, Cairo in a travel package , with a tour agent bec it would give you good accommodation and organized trips . Egypt , Cairo or any other city is perfectly safe . good hotels are , Nile Hilton, Ramsis Hilton, Sheraton, Conrad , Marriott . there are other good hotels , too. it is advisable to go to another city as well, ie , Sharm, Luxor and Aswan , to see more of the country. have a nice stay.
Not that I am aware of and I doubt that there will ever be one. Although it's been a while since I visited Philippines, Egyptian cuisine is not as popular as Italian or Asian food there. If you probably said Middle Eastern restaurant as opposed to just Egyptian, I'd think there are few since there are lots Filipinos in the Mid East.
lool..yes we have many seafood restaurents like ''fish land'' and ''el roudy'' and we have a nice restaurend called ''melody's'' it's kinda new but really great :)

ABDO KOFTA BESIDE ALAHLY CLUB NASR CITY
I'd eat in the hotels. Seriously! You wait until you get to Luxor and see the state of the place, and then you will agree! I saw a goat butchered in the street, meat is openly on display with flies. There aren't a lot of restaurants and the ones that I saw were pretty awful. Hotel food, by comparison, is clean and they work to European hygiene standards. Good luck
There is this great Indian Restaurant in Mohandseein called Rewsha and Kandahar..... i tried it last year and it was beautiful. It's not in an hotel though. Here is their contact info.. # 3 Gama'et EIdowal EI ArabiyaSt, Mohandessin. Tel :3443773 / 3455100
If you love seafood then you go to Fish Market. you can also find 5stars restaurants at 5 stars hotels such as: Sheraton Montazah Hotel, Palestine Helnan, Hilton Green Plaza, El Salamlek Palace and in the Four Seasons( open soon). If you like grilled stuff then you should go to Balbaa it's not a 5 stars restaurant but it's a must go to place.(go to the one at downtown mall)
ofcourse u dnt have to fast haha during the hours when people are fasting it is kind of slow..no one is really outside...people taking naps...that kind of thing. but an hour before we break our fast, traffic jams everywhere because everyone is returning home or visiting families to eat! the shops are still open and everything but close around iftar time for them to eat, also the close early because they go pray. there are still christians in egypt, so u wont feel like an outsider eating or drinking, just try not to overindulge infront of very hungry egyptians. also dnt wear any revealing tops and short skirts/shorts around cairo...because it will make people look and they could break their fast by staring at your cleavage. transportation is available, but remember come iftar time no muslim is working...everyone is eating! the above applies to cairo....im not sure about sharm el sheik or other tourist places...but theyre definitely not like cairo because theyre filled with tourists so its a different matter you should go..it would be a great experience, but dont let the whole duration of your trip be during ramadan. how about during the last days of ramadan? or maybe your trip can end during the first days? you choose. but egypt is still egypt during ramadan. Have Fun
mmm,a sit sorry i can't actuallly find a specific site that collects all these info,u can look it up at google write for instance: egypt alexandria language international school. and dun worry alex is one of the best places in egypt and very very very safe u can leave ur kids walk home alone.about shopping malls there's carrefour and san stefano which are the best.I have my cousins live ove there so if u need any further info just email me and I'll make u full guide info about everything but u have to specify for me.Just when you get there u'll get familiar with everything..just settle down and talk ur family for a walk and ask for everything around u from supermarkets to hospitals to clubs to pharamcies skools.wish u luck
well for REAL egyptian food go to downtown cairo for some really great falafel. they have this fast food restaurant called felfela. any corner restaurant actually would be good for some real egyptian food. if you are a vegetarian there's this egyptian food called koshary, it's really good. its kind of like spaghetti. if you want international food, go to city stars. thats a mall in heliopolis, cairo. i recommend that you go there, it's really cool. as for alexandria, im not really sure because ive been there once. hope this helps!
Take in account the time of year you go. Summer can be beastly hot especially in Aswan and Luxor. Winter though is quite cold as well especially at night. I froze in Aswan in January when I took a feluca trip. As for jabs, other than a standard tetnus shot which you should regardless, no special jabs are needed as far as I know. However I had previous vaccinations for yellow fever and typhoid from before and one of the heps a or b. Exchanging money wasn't too difficult but don't do the black market exchange ie guys on the street offering to make change for you. I often just used my ATM to pull out local currency or I went to the Nile Hilton. As for dodgy, be wary of the guys who will try to pull you into the perfume shops or touts who try to overcharge you. Haggle!
well there is so many restaurants ... planet Africa , Pizza king , Mo'men , thera is so many good restaurants
Yes it's very safe to travel to Egypt specially in Ramadan. restaurants are opened for foreigners and they serve drinks (only to foreigners during Ramadan). Try to enjoy the night life in Ramadan go to Ramadan tent khema If you smoke try the shisha and listen to oriental music. One aspect of Ramadan in Egypt that you cannot miss is the Mawaed El Rahman where large tables with all kinds of food are placed everywhere and any one can sit and eat. Of course I would not recommend that. Always use bottled water. If you enjoy sunny beaches It might be a good idea to go to the red sea (Sharm or Hurghada ) water there is much cleaner than Alex. you could even go to Ain Sokhna it's only 1:30 hrs from Cairo. Enjoy your stay in Egypt
sharm el shek i wetn too in may really nice and snorkelling is a must and fly to cario from sharm it cheap and namba bay good place to eat and nightlife try discount holiday centre from the net enjoy where ever u find take care drink bottled water and take plenty of sun cream
i think most fast food is disgusting, but Chili's is semi-fast food and I like eating there when I'm in egypt (home sickness gets me to go there, but I hardly eat chili's when I'm in the USA ironically)... BUT I always love McDonald's fries when it's not messed up! 2 Saudi Hot Girl: If you want to make subway's sauces @home and other fast food chain ingredients check out http://www.topsecretrecipes.com I use the site often for starbucks and outbacks recipes. It has this from subway on it, some of the recipes are free, and some cost like $0.79 only Subway® Bourbon Street Glaze Subway® Chipotle Southwest Sauce Subway® Classic Tuna Subway® Sweet Onion Sauce But can you tell me if you have seen Pastrami Sandwiches @subway in egypt? When I ate meat I used to enjoy that particular sandwich often...I've noticed it's regional though. Pastrami sandwiches @subway are only sold in California and Nevada, but I was unable to find it in massachusetts, other e. coast areas or the south. oh well...
